Floyd & Green Gem Hunt Awards Funds to Charities
Thursday, November 12th, 2020
For the fourth year in a row, Floyd & Green Jewelers will take Aiken residents on a scavenger hunt for charity during its annual Gem Hunt. This adventure shines a spotlight on the beauty and uniqueness of Aiken, taking participants to often unfamiliar areas and destinations.
For five consecutive weeks, Floyd & Green will hide a large green gem somewhere around Aiken. Clues will be given in the form of riddles. The first person to find the gem and bring it to Floyd & Green will receive $250 in store credit and the opportunity to choose a charity to receive $250.
“This will be a fun, socially-distanced way to get out of your house with family or friends,” explained Tom Williams, owner of Floyd & Green. “Not to mention, it will benefit numerous good causes.”
Last year, Aiken Intermediate School, Special Olympics-SC Area 15, Fayette Pregnancy Resource, FOTAS, Golden Harvest Food Bank and Recovery Road Ministries each received $250.
“The Aiken County Animal Shelter received over 4,000 unwanted animals last year,” said FOTAS President Jennifer Miller. “The donations to FOTAS help us save countless animals in need, and we are very grateful!”
