Leader of CSRA Alliance for Fort Gordon Leader to be Aiken Technical College’s 2019 Commencement Speaker

Aiken Technical College will have its 2019 commencement ceremony on Tuesday, May 7 at 7 p.m. at the USC Aiken Convocation Center, 2049 Champion Way, Graniteville.
Dr. Thomas J. Clark, executive director of the CSRA Alliance for Fort Gordon, will be the keynote speaker for the ceremony. As the executive director, he promotes and advocates for the Fort Gordon Cyber District and encourages support of cyber opportunities in the local region.
Clark, Command Sergeant Major (retired), served in the U.S. Army for more than 32 years and retired in 2011. Prior to his retirement, he served as the Army’s Signal Regimental Command Sergeant Major for the U.S. Army Signal Center and Fort Gordon. During his service, he received numerous awards including the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, two bronze stars, the air assault and combat action badge, and is an Audie Murphy Club and Sergeant Morales Club inductee.
More than 400 students have been approved for graduation, including a dozen Midland Valley High School seniors who will be the first cohort to graduate from the College’s Early College program. Students enrolled in the Early College program begin taking college-level courses the summer before their sophomore year toward earning an Associate in Arts and/or Associate in Science degree.
During the ceremony, the College will also recognize its Faculty Member of the Year and Staff Member of the Year.
