FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr to Visit Aiken Technical College on April 18th

Aiken Technical College will welcome Commissioner Brendan Carr with the Federal Communications Commission to campus on Thursday, April 18 from 1 to 3 p.m.
During his visit, Commissioner Carr will meet with College administration and the tower and wireless installation program advisory committee, students, and instructors; tour the indoor tower lab; watch an outdoor student tower climb demonstration; and personally climb one of the College’s 90-foot outdoor towers. Comments from Commissioner Carr and ATC President Dr. Forest Mahan will follow the climbs.
Commissioner Carr was nominated to his current FCC position by President Donald J. Trump and was unanimously confirmed August 3, 2017 by the United States Senate. He was sworn into office later that month.
Prior to his current role, he has held other positions with the FCC including chief legal advisor, attorney in the FCC’s Office of General Counsel, and lead advisor to FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai.

and Shama Ray, member of the board of directors for the National Association of Tower Erectors, and chair of the organization’s workforce development group.
