Elliott Davis, a leading business solutions firm with nine offices across the Southeast, announces that Sarah Paul, CPA, a manager in the company’s tax practice, has been named a 2019 Forty Under 40 winner by the Charleston Regional Business Journal. Nominated by members of the Charleston community and selected by a panel of judges, this group highlights people under 40 years of age who have excelled in the professional arena and in community involvement.
“We’re pleased Sarah is being recognized for the many contributions she’s made to her profession and the Greater Charleston area,” says Tim Grow, shareholder and leader of Elliott Davis’ Charleston office. “Sarah embodies our firm’s mission to make a positive impact on our clients, our people, and our communities, and is well-respected throughout Elliott Davis for her willingness to help others. We’re proud of Sarah’s accomplishments and are confident she will continue to positively impact our firm and the Charleston community for years to come.”
At Elliott Davis, Paul specializes in providing tax preparation, planning, and consulting for many of the firm’s key relationships in the real estate and construction industries. Since being promoted to manager, she has also assumed a lead role in the organization’s nonprofit tax practice, working with more than 50 nonprofit clients in Charleston alone. Additionally, Paul has become a mentor for many of the Charleston office’s younger professionals and has proven invaluable in helping to cultivate a culture of innovation and serving as a role model for all.
An active member of the community, Paul is involved in numerous service initiatives throughout the Charleston area. Chief among them is Susan G. Komen South Carolina, an organization in which she’s served as treasurer since April 2015. From January 2015 through December 2018, she also served as a member of the steering committee of Charleston Young Professionals (CYP). In addition to Susan G. Komen and CYP, Sarah has been active in Junior League of Charleston since 2013, the National Association of Women in Construction as a member of the organization’s finance committee, and with Elliott Davis’ ongoing support of Trident United Way.
“I’m truly honored to be recognized for this award and represent Elliott Davis and the organizations I support and care so deeply about,” says Paul. “Community involvement and leadership are cornerstones of Elliott Davis, and I’m grateful that the company encourages employees to get involved with causes that are so meaningful to us.”
Paul, who holds a bachelor of science in accounting from College of Charleston and a master’s of accountancy from University of South Carolina, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.
