Ben and Gen Rhoden have established a new scholarship endowment with the Aiken Technical College Foundation that will benefit Midland Valley High School graduates.

Ben Rhoden, who took a few courses at Aiken Technical College, and his wife both attended schools in the area that the Midland Valley High serves, they said.

“We wanted to create a legacy that would help someone else,” said Ben Rhoden.

The first scholarship from the endowment will be awarded for the 2020-2021 academic year and there will be one scholarship awarded annually thereafter, said Mary Commons, Director of the ATC Foundation.

The scholarships will be awarded to a graduating Midland Valley High School student who is enrolling full-time at ATC in the Associate in Applied Science: Electronics Engineering program or the Associate in Applied Science: Nursing program.

“We are very appreciative of the support from Mr. and Mrs. Rhoden,” said Commons. “It will have a lasting impact.”
