Blood Drive Scheduled in Support of ATC Professor July 18th

Aiken Technical College has partnered with Shepeard Community Blood Center to host a blood drive in support of a longtime ATC professor.
Dr. Kent Cubbage, who has taught biology at ATC since 2001, was injured in a serious accident June 26 in rural Aiken County.
A blood drive in Dr. Cubbage’s honor is being held at ATC on Wednesday, July 18. The Shepeard Community Blood Center blood mobile will be on campus in front of the Student Activities Center from 1:30 to 5 p.m. The blood mobile can accommodate 28 donors during this time.
Those wishing to participate may also donate at Shepeard Community Blood Center at 353 Fabian Drive, in Aiken’s Hitchcock Plaza Shopping Center, from Wednesday, July 18, to Saturday, July 21. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Please let the center staff know you are donating in Dr. Cubbage’s honor.
The family of Dr. Cubbage released this statement:
“Kent has always been a tremendous supporter of the community. In light of his recent accident, his family knows that he would greatly appreciate this blood drive to support patients within the CSRA.”
The family asks for privacy and requests no visitors at this time.
