ATC Foundation to Host Second Annual Giving Gala Fundraising Event October 5th
Wednesday, July 18th, 2018
The Aiken Technical College Foundation will host its second annual Giving Gala on Friday, October 5 at The Reserve Club at Woodside Plantation.
“Last year we changed our entire event from ‘Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner’ to the Giving Gala and it was well received. Our theme last year was ‘40 Years of Friend and Fundraising’ celebrating the ATC Foundation’s 40th anniversary,” said Mary Commons, Director of the ATC Foundation. “It is always risky to try something different, but it paid off and we raised over $14,000 for student scholarships.”
This year’s theme is Havana Nights with entertainment by West End Mambo, a six-piece band that plays a variety of classic salsa and Latin jazz.
The event will also include a cocktail reception, Latin dancers, Cuban hors d’oeuvres, a cigar and rum bar, desserts, and silent auction. Attire for the evening is festive and bright Latin attire.
Tickets are $70 per person. Proceeds benefit student scholarships at ATC.
“Scholarships are so important to our students,” said Commons. “Whether it helps towards tuition or enables students to buy books, it is very much appreciated and helps the students focus on their education rather than worrying about their finances while attending ATC.”
The presenting sponsor for the event is Savannah River Nuclear Solutions; entertainment sponsor is CB&I AREVA MOX Services; festive fare sponsor is Savannah River Remediation; additional sponsors include Aiken Regional Medical Centers, Centerra SRS, MTU America Inc., Security Federal Bank, Stewart and Associates, Inc., Aiken Standard, Woodside Aiken Realty and the Hampton Inn.
