Vets to Bring New Delivery Service to Area
Monday, April 16th, 2018
Giddit, an on-demand mobile and web delivery service, is making its way to the Augusta River Region. Founded by Alona and Johnny Guillory in 2016, the business aims to bridge the gap between busy individuals and families and their lack of time to shop.
Users who want to utilize Giddit’s services must download the app and create an account to start ordering the products they need. Once ordered, the Giddit runner will pick up the order and deliver it to the customer’s home, office, or wherever they are currently located. Customers can order almost anything they need to be delivered.
“Not only will we deliver takeout from your favorite local restaurant, but we will also do your grocery shopping, or go pick up that new pair of shoes you’ve been eyeing, essentially be your personal shopper,” Alona said.
Currently, Giddit serves 17 local markets from Thomson, Georgia, to Aiken, South Carolina, including Fort Gordon. The owners spent four years stationed at Fort Gordon, and they know firsthand the hassle of not being able to leave the fort to shop. They are proud to bring a delivery service that will serve this area.
“Being able to serve Fort Gordon was very important to us because of our military background and living on the Fort,” Johnny said. “It will make getting the things they need so much easier, and we’re excited about that.”
Giddit will begin taking orders through the app and online beginning in May. The delivery service is currently looking to hire runners, and it is also looking to partner with businesses around the area.
