Former State Senator Harry Chapman Endorses Eric Graben for CD 4

Thursday, April 19th, 2018

Eric Graben, Democratic candidate for Congress in South Carolina’s 4th district, announced today the endorsement of Harry Chapman, former Democratic State Senator.  Chapman, a strong advocate for our public school system during his time in the Senate, served as the Senator from District 2 from 1967 until 1983.

Graben, in accepting the endorsement, praised Senator Chapman’s leadership in the upstate. “For years, Harry Chapman has been one of the most respected leaders in Greenville County and the upstate,” said Graben.  “We could use more leaders in our politics today that bring Senator Chapman’s bi-partisan attitude to governing.  I am honored to have the endorsement of Senator Chapman and will be proud to bring his civil, inclusive governing system to Washington.”

Senator Chapman, in offering his endorsement, remarked on Graben’s long history of advocacy in the upstate. “For as long as I have known him, Eric has been fighting to make our community a more fair, more just place” said Chapman.  “His dedication to our community is unmatched.  He will be a Congressman that will always put the people first and will make everyone in our community proud.”

Graben’s announcement builds on his campaign’s momentum.  Just two weeks ago, he announced that numerous current and former elected officials from the district had endorsed his campaign.  Last week, he announced he has raised more than $55,000 in the race, notably in just two weeks during the 1st quarter.
