Aiken Technical College nursing instructor Jill Hartzog was recognized in late April by the CSRA Georgia Nurses Association as one of its Spirit of Nursing Award recipients.
Award recipients are chosen by healthcare and professional organizations in the region based on the honoree’s ability to collaborate with other healthcare colleagues; demonstrate effective, quality nursing practices; demonstrate integrity and adherence to nursing code of ethics; develop and implement strategies to improve nursing; promote the image of the nursing profession; and exemplify the spirit of caring and commitment to nursing.
“I am humbled and honored to have been selected as a recipient of the GNA Spirit of Nursing Award,” said Hartzog. “Since I was very young, I knew that I wanted to invest my life in helping others. During my nursing career, I have had the privilege of providing nursing care at the bedside and also in helping to prepare future nurses. There are many nurses deserving of this award. I am very appreciative to be included among the ranks of those who have been recognized for their spirit of caring and commitment to nursing.”
Hartzog has been employed with ATC for six years and has more than 30 years of experience which includes being a bedside nurse as well as a nurse educator.
