It’s National Volunteer Month. And AT&T is celebrating 17 employees from South Carolina being honored with the President’s Volunteer Service Award. These employees accounted for more than 4,400 volunteer service hours last year.
 
The PVSA recognizes individuals who demonstrate a commitment to volunteerism throughout the year. Recipients must log a minimum of 100 service hours, with many volunteering more than 500 hours.
 
The South Carolina AT&T employees are among 4,386 AT&T employees nationwide to receive this honor.
 
“Dedicated volunteers are the unrecognized heroes of a community, for their commitment to service and compassion helps shape the quality of life for everyone,” said Pamela Lackey, president of AT&T South Carolina. “AT&T congratulates this year’s PVSA award recipients and celebrates all our employees who are giving unselfishly of their time and talent and making a lasting difference for others.”
 
Community service has been an integral part of our company culture for more than 100 years and takes many forms. Some of the ways our employees are involved here in South Carolina include mentoring at-risk high school students, working with youth in repairing homes for people in need, leading Boy Scout troops, coaching youth sports, and refereeing robotics competitions for high school students.
